Manchester United's defensive injury crisis appears to have claimed its latest victim after Victor Lindelof was pictured on crutches.
Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag is already without left-back duo Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw, while £52million summer recruit Leny Yoro is out with a fractured metatarsal.
But it appears the casualty ward at Carrington has added another member in Lindelof.
The Swedish defender's wife, Maja Nilsson Lindelof, uploaded a short video to her Instagram story of the United star on crutches.
The clip was accompanied by the caption: 'Doing everything in slow motion these days'.
Lindelof was spotted on crutches in the latest cruel injury blow for Manchester United
The Swedish defender missed 22 games last season with hamstring and groin injuries
United are yet to reveal the extent of Lindelof's latest injury.
The 30-year-old's latest setback comes after a 2023-24 campaign in which he missed 22 games for club and country due to hamstring and groin injuries.
It also adds further strain on United's defensive options.
In the Red Devils' 1-0 win over Fulham on Friday night, they lined up with Diogo Dalot at left-back, Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez at centre-back and recent recruit Noussair Mazraoui at right-back.
Defensive duo Jonny Evans and Matthijs de Ligt began the match on the bench but were injected into the contest in the second half in place of Maguire and Mazraoui.
Ten Hag insisted he did not bring Maguire off due to an injury, but the Dutch boss revealed the defender 'had a problem' and the substitution was merely a precaution.
It may be some time before United's defensive stocks are back to full capacity.
Shaw sustained a calf strain in pre-season and is expected to be sidelined until after the first international break.
Yoro fractured his fifth metatarsal in a pre-season friendly against Arsenal in the US
Shaw has not played for United since February and won't return to action until September
The England international has not pulled on a United shirt since February 18 when he suffered a hamstring injury.
Malacia did not play a minute last season and continues to work his way back from a knee injury, although United have not offered an update on when he may return to action.
Yoro fractured his fifth metatarsal in a pre-season friendly against Arsenal, but a report has since claimedUnited knew the 18-year-old was at risk of that exact injury during his medical.
The highly-regarded defender has since undergone surgery to fix the issue and will be out for three months.
