It was another night of Europa League chaos for Manchester United as Erik ten Hag's outfit played out a back-and-forth draw with a Fenerbahce side littered with former Premier League faces, including Jose Mourinho who was sent to the stands.
Christian Eriksen gave the Red Devils the lead on 15 minutes with their first attack. The Dane ran onto a tapped pass from Joshua Zirkzee after a speedy move and slotted the ball home from the edge of the box.
Mourinho's men were sensationally denied by a remarkable double save from Andre Onana in the United net as the Turkish outfit looked to claw back onto level terms.
Their persistence paid off when former Newcastle man Allan Saint-Maximin floated in a pinpoint cross from the left which landed perfectly on the head of Youssef En-Nesyri, who gave Fenerbahce a deserved equaliser.
Mail Sport's NATHAN SALT was on hand to separate those who showed up and those who fell short for ten Hag's side on a frenetic evening in Istanbul.

Manchester United
Andre Onana - 7.5
Produced two world class saves from no more than a yard out to deny Youssef En-Nesyiri in a moment that left Jose Mourinho speechless.
Lisandro Martinez - 7
Wore the captain’s armband as he continued at left back. Made up for lack of pace with his reading of the game and it was quite telling Fenerbahce rarely wanted to venture down his side.
Victor Lindelof - 6
Drafted in with Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans out injured and he did not look rusty at all. Looked composed in a tough atmosphere. Looked annoyed when he was hooked before the hour mark for Casemiro.

Matthijs de Ligt wants to head absolutely everything and that’s why United fans have taken to him so quickly
Diogo Dalot was given the toughest assignment in trying to keep former Newcastle star Allan Saint-Maximin quiet
Matthjis de Ligt - 6.5
Wants to head absolutely everything and that’s why United fans have taken to him so quickly. Possesses that warrior spirit you want in a centre back.
Diogo Dalot - 6
Was given the toughest assignment in trying to keep former Newcastle star Allan Saint-Maximin quiet. Much of Fenerbahce’s threat came down his side and it was no surprise when the ex-Toon winger made the equaliser for the hosts.
Manuel Ugarte - 7.5
Looked scared in the opening moments before settling down. Produced a goal-saving block not long after dispossessing Fred to set United away for the opening goal. Big night for the £52m man.

Noussair Mazraoui was deployed in an unfamiliar No 10 role and he thrived, which is credit to the manager
Alejandro Garnacho was as boisterous in his running as ever against Fenerbahce
Christian Eriksen - 7.5
His renaissance continues. Out of contract at the end of the season but his performances - and his goal here - gives United a headache now. Has come up big for Ten Hag this season, particularly in Europe.
Alejandro Garnacho - 6
It was his driving run down the left that sparked the first goal and he was as boisterous in his running as ever. Too many spells where he drifts out of the game, though.
Noussair Mazraoui - 7
Deployed in an unfamiliar No 10 role and he thrived, which is credit to the manager. Drove with purpose and delivered deft touches on the edge of the box. Proved his pre-match doubters wrong.
Marcus Rashford - 6
Booked for a cynical foul on Sebastian Szymanski as Fenerbahce broke in numbers on the counter-attack. A willing runner in both directions, which hasn’t always been said of him, but wasted glorious opportunities to put the game to bed.
Joshua Zirkzee - 5
It was his lay-off to Christian Eriksen that led to the opening goal but again he cuts a frustrated figure in terms of getting a goal of his own. His wayward touches are infuriating.
Subs: Amass, Bayındır, Casemiro 6.5 (for Lindelöf 55), Diallo (for Antony 89), Heaton, Ogunneye, Wheatley, Højlund 6 (for Zirkzee 55), Antony (for Rashford 73)
Manager
Erik ten Hag - 7
Was bold as brash in his decisions, not least putting Mazraoui at No 10. Had everyone questioning him beforehand and showed he knows best on a chaotic night.
