Paul Scholes remains disappointed by Manchester United's progress under Erik ten Hag after watching the Red Devils claim a a hard-fought draw against Fenerbahce in the Europa League.
The Premier League side were made to settle for a point in an eventful clash against their former boss Jose Mourinho in Istanbul thanks to Youssef En-Nesyri's second-half equaliser.
United had led through Christian Eriksen's second goal of the European campaign but were unable to hang on for the win, just as they failed to do in their previous two outings against Porto and FC Twente.
The results leaves the club languishing in 21st in the Europa League table, while a slow start domestically sees Ten Hag's men sat in 12th. Scholes has taken a dim view of his former side's start and believes that it is a damning indictment on Ten Hag, now into his third season with the club.
'No, not yet,' Scholes said on TNT Sports when asked if he could see any improvement in United this season. 'They have played in spells where they look okay and they have missed a lot of chances.

'But the league position tells you everything and I'm talking about both leagues. It's not been good. The big disappointment is that we're two and a bit years in, a lot of money has been spent and we're not seeing improvement.
'You'd like to think by now they'd be up there challenging. The top three teams [in the Premier League] are ahead of most other teams but you'd like to see them getting a little closer to that but it doesn't feel like it.'
Ten Hag looked destined for the sack after United's 3-0 home defeat by Tottenham last month but three draws and a win in their last four matches either side of the international break has quieted chatter of his dismissal.
Their solitary win in that period came in impressive fashion against an in-form Brentford side.
'On Saturday they got closer to having their best team out,' he added. 'Luke Shaw still needs to come into that, the young lad Leny Yoro, Mainoo back into midfield.
'I thought there were signs especially in the second-half and they scored two really good goals which excited you. Fingers crossed they can go on and improve.'
The next test comes on Sunday when United travel to the London Stadium to take on a West Ham side in desperate need of a positive result. Ten Hag's side then welcome Leicester to Old Trafford in the League Cup before taking on Chelsea.
