Premier League winner is unrecognisable after being spotted on holiday

A former Premier League striker is unrecognisable in a recent photo shared on social media.

The 37-year-old turned out for four different English clubs during the 2010s and won the Premier League and a domestic cup during his time in the time in the top flight.

He was rewarded for his performances with a sustained spell with the French national team, and was part of Didier Deschamps' side that reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup in 2014.

After his stints in England the prolific goalscorer enjoyed spells in La Liga, the Turkish top flight and back in his native France.

He announced his retirement last year after leaving Ligue 1 side Brest following a short-term deal.

Loic Remy turned out for four different English clubs and won the Premier League with Chelsea

But the 37-year-old is said to have called Newcastle the best English club that he played for

The player, of course, is former Newcastle, QPR and Chelsea forward Loic Remy.

More than ten years after Remy arrived in England, the Frenchman clearly maintains fond memories of his time in the top flight.

A Newcastle fan shared an image of himself alongside Remy on social media in the Croatian City of Split.

Unlike his earlier playing days, he now sports long dreadlocks but has clearly maintained an athletic physique since calling time on his career.

The fan wrote on X: Met Loic Remy cliff jumping in split yesterday afternoon, lovely bloke, said Newcastle was the best club he played for in England and that he loved SJP and the fans.'

After impressive scoring tallies in Ligue 1 with both Nice and Marseille, Remy first found his way to the Premier League in 2013 when Harry Redknapp paid a club-record £8m to bring him to Loftus Road during the January window.

Despite netting six times in 14 games and finishing the season at the club's top scorer QPR were unable to stave off relegation and he subsequently joined Newcastle on loan.

At St James' Park the Frenchman once again proved prolific, netting 14 goals and winning the club's player of the season award.

The Frenchman became QPR's record-signing when he joined the club from Marseille in 2013

Remy then joined Chelsea on a permanent deal and was part of the Jose Mourinho's side that secured a Premier League and EFL Cup double in 2014-15.

Competing for a place in the side with the likes of Diego Costa and Didier Drogba saw Remy's playing time limited however, and he departed the club in 2017 following an injury-disrupted loan spell at Crystal Palace.
