Ronaldo brutally snubs former teammate for Mbappe in YouTube video

Cristiano Ronaldo may have rubbed some of his former teammates the wrong way thanks to his latest YouTube video in which he named his top player

Having enjoyed fruitful spells at Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus as well as the Portuguese national team, Ronaldo has featured alongside some of the game's greats.

However, there was one especially contentious decision from the 39-year-old, snubbing former Madrid striker Karim Benzema in favour of a player he has never teamed up with.

In the video, Ronaldo was asked by his former Manchester United teammate Rio Ferdinand to pick which player from the two given by the latter he thought was better.

Ferdinand opened up by asking Ronaldo to choose between United icons Gary Neville and Paul Scholes.

Given Ronaldo had offered high praise of Scholes in the past, it was little surprise he opted for the midfielder over Neville.

Ronaldo continued to choose Scholes over the likes of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Carlos Tevez, but preferred David Beckham over the red-headed midfield dynamo.

Beckham was selected over Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria, only for Ronaldo to select Ryan Giggs instead of 'Becks'.

Ferdinand soon rattled off more of Ronaldo's Madrid teammates, including Sergio Ramos, Pepe, Marcelo, Xabi Alonso, Toni Kroos and even Javier Hernandez, yet Ronaldo continually picked Giggs.

However, Giggs' run soon came to an end when Ronaldo chose Benzema over him.

But the next answer proved to be Ronaldo's most telling.

Ferdinand asked Ronaldo to pick between Benzema and fellow French superstar Kylian Mbappe.

Surprisingly, Ronaldo went for Mbappe over Benzema.

Mbappe has faced Ronaldo five times in his career, with three of those being internationals

It comes as somewhat of a shock given Ronaldo and Benzema featured in 342 matches together, per Transfermarkt.

Benzema also has a Ballon d'Or to his name which he won in 2022 by some distance over second-placed Sadio Mane after a stellar season where he was the top scorer in the Champions League and LaLiga.

Ronaldo has only faced Mbappe five times over the course of his career, with two of those fixtures coming during the Frenchman's time at PSG and the remaining three at international level.

However, those games evidently left a lasting impression on Ronaldo for him to label Mbappe as the better player over Benzema.
