Soccer AM booked Barry from Eastenders instead of Shaun Goater

Broadcasting legend Tim Lovejoy has reunited with Helen Chamberlain and other former Soccer AM stars to reminisce about their time on the iconic show.

Lovejoy and Chamberlain were joined by the likes of Tubes on the first episode of the Mail's brand-new podcast Soccer A-Z.

It includes several hilarious tales as the gang reunite to recall their spells on the hit Sky Sports programme, which was axed at the end of last season.

One such tale was told by ex-Soccer AM producer Chris Nutbeam, who recalled the time he accidentally booked Shaun Williamson, the actor who plays Barry from Eastenders, instead of Man City cult hero Shaun Goater - described by Tubes as an 'unbelievable story'.

'You know when you get that cold feeling that you've made a really bad mistake here...,' said Nutbeam.

Each weekly episode of the podcast will be led by the alphabet and will include a variety of football-inspired challenges as dictated by the letter of the week, with a quiz incorporated into each adventure.
