No Victoria as Becks turns up for Sven's send-off
The former England skipper has gone with a classic look for the cewremony this morning.
Beckham arrives at the church
David Beckham have been seen arriving at Frysande ahead of the beginning of the ceremony. We'll bring you some pictures as soon as we can but as confirmed earlier, there is no Victoria with him.
Former Premier League stars among the mourners in attendance
Swedes of yesteryear are among the famous faces that have been spotted arriving for Sven's funeral this morning. They include former Liverpool defender Glenn Hysen and ex-Arsenal man Kim Kallstrom.
Kallstrom is now the head of the Swedish football federation.
Andrea Mollerberg, general scretary of the federation, Begt Berg, who helped write Eriksson's forthcoming autobiography and of course his parter Yaniseth Alcides are also in attendance.
The man who inspired Sven's funeral
Sven was a well travelled man and his experience in Italy in particular inspired the look and feel of today's event.
The 'New Orleans style' procession is inspired by the colourful 1993 public funeral of Sampdoria president and owner Paolo Mantovani's in Genoa, which Eriksson attended when he was a coach there and included jazz music.
Following the service, Torsby's brass band will lead his coffin along the 700 yard walk from Fryksände church to the Kollsberg homestead, where friends and family will pay a more intimate tribute.
A look inside Fryksande
The coffin containing the former England boss was brought in earlier and has been laid inside the historic Frysande church where the ceremony will take place. A poignant image for a man who proved to be popular wherever he went.
Guestlist remains shrouded in mystery...
Former England manager Roy Hodgson, a noted influence on Eriksson's managerial style, flew into a local airport yesterday, as did David Dein, the ex-owner of Arsenal.
At the head of the congregation will be Eriksson's close family including his daughter, Lina, and son, Johan, who followed in his father's footsteps by playing football before going into management.
His 95-year-old father Sven will also be present alongside Eriksson's girlfriend Yaniseth Alcides and her son Alcides, as well as his brother Lasse and wife Jumnong.
David Beckham touched down in Sweden on Thursday
The former England captain will be one of the most, if not the most, famous face at the funeral today. Beckham was Sven's skipper when he managed the Three Lions between 2001 and 2006.
Beckham touched down at Karlstad airport on Thursday and his wife Victoria was orginally expected to join him. However, according to Swedish outline Expressen, Mrs Beckham did not join her husband on the private jet that took him to the country.
Scenes from Torsby
We have some images as the final touches were put on preparartions ahead of the funeral this morning. The Fryksande church will welcome around 600 mourners, while those unable to fit will be able to watch proceedings on a big screen outside.
Goodbye Sven!
Hello and welcome to our coverage of the funeral of former England manager Sven Goran-Eriksson, who will be laid to rest in his hometown of Torsby this morning. The Swede, who became a much-loved figure thanks to his time with the Three Lions and later Manchester City, died last month after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
Hundreds of mourners will be descending on the small Swedish town this morning to pay their respects and bid a final farewell to the enigmatic man. We'll be bringing you all the updates from the events in Sweden, which promise to be unlike anything the town has ever seen.
Sven was apparently keen to make his send off a celebration so we'll be doing our best to ensure that spirit is shared here!
