The teenager accused of shooting San Francisco 49ers player Ricky Pearsall in the chest last weekend allegedly carried a gun into his high school the prior week, DailyMail.com has learned.
A police report in the 17-year-old’s hometown in Tracy, California, confirmed the prior incident took place on Tuesday, August 21 at Stein High School, an alternative school for students who’ve had trouble in the district’s general population.
Police have an open case on the incident, and the student was disciplined by the school, sources tell DailyMail.com.
The student’s name and specifics, however, were left blacked out of the heavily redacted police report police said, because it involves a minor. The school district also refused to discuss the incident and referred all questions to the San Francisco police department.
DailyMail.com knows the teen's identity, but is not reporting it due to his age.

According to the police report, the school district called police the morning of August 21 to report a student brandishing a weapon the previous day. Officers were told the ‘student is at the school now,’ but that it was unknown whether he had the gun with him at that time.
The school resource officer was ordered to approach the individual, the report states. However, details of what happened next were redacted.
San Francisco police, in discussing the shooting of Pearsall on August 31, pointed out that the 17-year-old had a prior incident with police in his hometown Tracy, but wouldn’t elaborate.
The shooting reportedly took place in the city's Union Square with the wideout thought to be targeted for his Rolex rather than his NFL status.
Authorities say the attempted robbery backfired when the suspect took a bullet from his own gun during his struggle with Pearsall, who refused to surrender.
Police immediately apprehended the 17-year-old suspect, who was not wearing shoes after losing them at the scene of the attack.

The teen was sent to juvenile lockup. Prosecutors have charged the teen with attempted murder, assault with a semi-automatic firearm and attempted second-degree robbery.
He made his first court appearance Wednesday at the Juvenile Delinquency courthouse, where he sat silently. Afterward, Deputy Public Defender Bob Dunlap told reporters the boy was ‘very sorry’ for what happened, as is his family.
The district attorney Brooke Jenkins said her office is still weighing whether they will seek to try him as an adult, the San Francisco Chronicle reported, which could mean the difference between state prison and a juvenile facility.
San Francisco probation officers, meanwhile, are recommending that he be transferred to a facility in San Joaquin County, where the boy lives and where his other criminal matter is pending, the Chronicle reported.
Pearsall, who was rushed to San Francisco General Hospital, was initially listed as being in a 'serious but stable condition.'
But the bullet miraculously missed his vital organs. He was released from the hospital just 24 hours after he was shot.
Pearsall was the 49ers first round pick in this year's NFL draft.

San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch says Pearsall is doing 'remarkably well.’
Lynch said that Pearsall, who was placed on the non-football injury list and will miss the first four games of the season, has been outpacing expectations and is focused on getting back on the field.
'I think some of his earliest concerns is when he could play,' Lynch said Tuesday. 'He's asking me [in the hospital]... I don't know, but the surgeon was there and helping him through those type of thoughts.'
Lynch seemed confident that the wide receiver would be able to help the Niners at some point this season but is being cautious in the meantime.
