Whether you're looking for comedy, police procedurals, or sweeping historical dramas, streaming services like Apple TV Plus, Netflix, and Peacock have plenty to offer this week.
Netflix is bringing back the raunchy high school coming-of-age comedy with Incoming, a show about a group of freshman who grow up quickly when they attend their first big, debaucherous party. On Prime Video, a different kind of high school story unfolds on the new series Classified, about an American girl sent to live in South Africa and find her way in a new school there. Hulu's got a new season of the legal drama Reasonable Doubt, which was created by Scandal writer Raamla Mohamed; new episodes of that show are out this Thursday.
This week, Pachinko is also back on Apple TV Plus for season two. Based on the novel by Min Jin Lee, the series picks up where season one left off and continues the decades-spanning tale of a Korean family living in Japan during the 20th century.
Over on Peacock, you can check out the full series drop of the classic crime series Homicide: Life on the Street and tune into the Love Island USA reunion, both are out on Aug. 19 or catch the new action movie The Killer starring Nathalie Emmanuel on Aug. 23. On Max, Kevin Costner's years-in-the-making epic Horizon: An American Saga Chapter One arrives this week, too.

Best new shows and films to stream (Aug. 19 to 25)
Incoming (Aug. 23)
The new Netflix film Incoming is hoping to bring back the raunchy high school comedy; the film's premise about four high school freshman attending their first big rager is partially based on the real-life experience of writer-directors Dave and John Chernin.
The young cast of the film includes Mason Thames, Ramon Reed, Raphael Alejandro, and Isabella Ferreir, with support from veteran actors Kaitlin Olson and Bobby Cannavale.
Apple TV Plus
Pachinko (Aug. 23)
Based on the novel of the same name, the eight-episode second season of Pachinko will premiere on Friday, Aug. 23, with one episode, followed by a new episode weekly every Friday through Oct. 11. In season 2, two parallel stories are told, one in 1945, as the story's main protagonist, Sunja, fights for her family's survival during World War II, and later in Tokyo in 1989.

Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1 (Aug. 23)
The first film of Kevin Costner's sprawling Civil War-era epic hits Max this week. Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1 comes to the streamer on Friday, and while Chapter 2 was intended to hit theaters this month, it's been shelved indefinitely, likely so that more fans can check out Chapter 1 at home first. (Four chapters are planned, according to Costner.) Costner, Sienna Miller, Giovanni Ribisi and Sam Worthington star.
Hulu
Reasonable Doubt (Aug. 22)
Executive-produced by Kerry Washington, Hulu's Reasonable Doubt is a dramatic legal drama now in its second season. The show stars Emayatzy Corinealdi, McKinley Freeman, and Tim Jo, and Morris Chestnut will join the cast as a defense lawyer this season. The series returns on Aug. 22 with two back-to-back episodes.
Peacock
The Killer (Aug. 23)
Peacock's The Killer is a reimagining of John Woo's 1989 Hong Kong action thriller of the same name, helmed once again by Woo for a new era. The film stars Nathalie Emmanuel as Zee, an assassin in the Paris underworld who finds herself in trouble when she refuses to kill a mark that's been assigned to her. The film is out on Peacock on Aug. 23.
Homicide: Life on the Street (Aug. 19)
Crazy to think that one of NBC's classic crime dramas, Homicide: Life on the Street, hasn't been available on a streaming platform until now. The classic series featured a vast ensemble cast including Richard Belzer, Andre Braugher, and Yaphet Kotto, based on a David Simon book about life on the Baltimore streets. All seven seasons of the show have been remastered to HD and 4K and will be on Peacock starting Aug. 19.
Prime Video
Classified (Aug. 22)
Prime Video's new coming-of-age drama Classified stars Imani Pullum as a California high school student sent to live with her father (Sule Rimi) and step-mother (Christine Horn) in Johannesburg, South Africa. There, she has to learn how to navigate the tricky waters of high school in an environment far from the one she has known. The series will be available on both Prime Video and Freevee starting Aug. 22.
