Bitwise Asset Management has donated $233,000 to open source developers maintaining the Bitcoin network. The contribution is funded by profits from its spot Bitcoin ETF, BITB.
This marks the second annual payout from Bitwise, fulfilling a commitment to direct 10% of gross profits toward development initiatives. The funds will be distributed to Brink, OpenSats, and the Human Rights Foundation's Bitcoin Development Fund, which support core infrastructure contributors.
Bitwise stated the donation channels investor returns back into the ecosystem responsible for securing the network. The firm indicated that future contributions will increase proportionally with BITB's assets under management.
