Bitmine has significantly increased its Ethereum holdings, staking an additional 112,656 ETH valued at $260 million. This brings its total staked ETH to 3,814,245, representing 75.11% of its holdings. This move establishes Bitmine as the largest single ETH staker globally.
This substantial stake removes liquidity from the market due to a mandatory one-month withdrawal delay. Bitmine's position is substantial enough to potentially influence Ethereum's proof-of-stake consensus and create concentrated validator power. The staked ETH is projected to generate an annual yield of $200-300 million for Bitmine.
Market participants have largely anticipated this development, with prediction markets showing near certainty of Ethereum remaining above $1,900 by April 25. However, Bitmine's continued accumulation could influence future trader expectations regarding Ethereum's price trajectory.
