The alert, sent Sunday morning, stated Erling Haaland scored twice. Users shared screenshots on social media. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong said he was investigating.

The actual match, delayed by weather, later concluded with Norway winning 2-1.

The company's head of consumer products, Max Branzburg, said the error was fixed and updates were made to prevent future inaccuracies.

The incident occurred as Coinbase expands its prediction markets and pushes to become an "everything exchange," integrating features like an AI adviser and stock options.
