Michael Selig, Chair of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), indicated that the agency is nearing a decision on cryptocurrency perpetual futures. Speaking at a Milken Institute event, Selig stated that "true perpetual futures" could be available in the United States "within the next month or so."

Selig also noted the CFTC's efforts to provide guidance on prediction markets, asserting the agency's "exclusive jurisdiction" over such platforms. SEC Chair Paul Atkins, who also spoke at the event, highlighted the need for congressional certainty on digital asset market structure legislation to support regulatory efforts.
