Humanity Protocol's native token H crashed over 73% Tuesday after hackers compromised private keys, seized bridge admin controls, and stole more than $36 million across Ethereum and BNB Chain.

The attack, which occurred Monday, was traced to a breach after an employee's laptop was compromised. The attackers drained 141.2 million H and minted an additional 200 million H through malicious contract upgrades.

Humanity Protocol Founder Terence Kwok confirmed the breach, warning users not to interact with the project's infrastructure until further notice.

The H token plunged from $0.73 to as low as $0.08, erasing much of a rally that had pushed it close to its all-time high of $0.80 just a week earlier.

Cyvers co-founder Meir Dolev called the incident "an operational security failure," noting the attacker gained admin access through a private key tied to a Humanity Foundation member.

The attack extends a record-breaking year for DeFi exploits, with more than $885 million lost in the first six months of 2026 alone.
