The MetaMask debit card is now available to all users across the United States. Developed in partnership with Consensys and Mastercard, the card allows users to spend their self-custodied crypto funds wherever Mastercard is accepted.
MetaMask Staff Product Manager Ale Machado stated, "With MetaMask Card, your assets stay in your wallet-under your control-until the exact moment you make a purchase." This feature provides everyday utility for crypto-native users without compromising their principles.
The company also introduced a premium MetaMask Metal Card for $199 annually. This tier offers up to 3% cashback on the first $10,000 spent per year, no foreign transaction fees, higher spending and ATM limits, and exclusive access to travel discounts and events. Standard cardholders can receive up to 1% cashback.
Participation requires users to complete ID verification and compliance checks. MetaMask aims for the card to become a seamless part of users' daily routines, enabling frictionless spending directly from their self-custodial wallets.
