Tokyo-listed investment firm Metaplanet has secured approximately $255 million from global institutional investors. CEO Simon Gerovich confirms the company aims for a total capital raise of $531 million to fuel its long-term Bitcoin accumulation strategy.
With current holdings of 35,102 BTC valued at roughly $2.6 billion, Metaplanet now ranks as the third-largest Bitcoin treasury globally. It trails only Strategy and MARA Holdings, which collectively possess nearly 800,000 BTC.
The firm plans to establish a United States subsidiary, Metaplanet Asset Management, to facilitate venture investments and digital asset services. Strategic targets include 100,000 BTC by the end of 2026 and 210,000 BTC by 2027.
