Blockchain data provider Messari is cutting staff and pivoting to an AI-first strategy under new CEO Diran Li. Eric Turner, interim CEO since July, stepped down, handing over to Diran Li. The transition involves layoffs, parting with many who helped build Messari.
"Looking ahead, we're doubling down on Messari as an AI-first company serving institutions through research and AI products," Diran Li said. Last year, Messari began incorporating AI into its products, and last week, it opened its data layer to autonomous agents using the x402 protocol.
Messari was founded in 2018 as a pure crypto research and data company.
