Russia has sanctioned a 17-year-old British teenager for exposing the alleged use of the ruble-pegged stablecoin A7A5 in funding the war in Ukraine. Alexander Browder, the son of prominent Putin critic Bill Browder, authored a report for The Henry Jackson Society that the Russian Foreign Ministry claims spread false information. Browder was sanctioned alongside three other U.K. nationals and a Washington Post reporter.
"It's a badge of honor," Browder posted on X.
The A7A5 stablecoin was designed specifically to bypass Western sanctions imposed on Russia following its 2022 invasion of Ukraine.
