Anthropic has completed a massive $65 billion Series H funding round. The deal, closed on May 28, gives the Claude AI maker a post-money valuation of $965 billion. This makes it the most valuable AI startup on the planet, surpassing OpenAI.
The company has filed a confidential S-1 registration statement with the SEC. An IPO later this year could be one of the largest in US history. Its valuation has surged from roughly $60 billion in early 2025 to nearly $1 trillion now.
The round was led by Altimeter Capital, Dragoneer, Greenoaks, and Sequoia Capital. Strategic investors Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and Nvidia all participated.
Amazon (AMZN) has invested billions across multiple rounds and integrated Claude into AWS cloud services. Alphabet (GOOGL) holds a substantial stake while developing its own Gemini models. Microsoft (MSFT), OpenAI's primary backer, has also invested in Anthropic. Nvidia (NVDA) is a key beneficiary as Anthropic scales its GPU-dependent AI infrastructure.
US export restrictions on Anthropic's models, announced in mid-June 2026, are pushing interest toward decentralized AI alternatives. Bittensor (TAO), a leading decentralized AI token, saw gains following the announcement.
Tokenized Anthropic equity products have appeared on the Solana blockchain, implying valuations above $1 trillion. These unauthorized products carry significant legal and valuation risks. Anthropic's Model Context Protocol (MCP) enables secure AI-blockchain interactions, with integrations on Base, Sei, Arbitrum, and TRON.
For investors, Amazon currently offers the most concentrated public market exposure to Anthropic. If the IPO proceeds at its current valuation, Amazon's stake could become a substantial asset.
