Bank of America has agreed to a $2.25 million settlement in a class-action lawsuit. The suit, filed in 2019 in a California federal court, alleged the bank charged customers double out-of-network fees for a single balance inquiry at ATMs inside 7-Eleven stores. Those ATMs were owned by FCTI, Inc.

Eligible customers are U.S. account holders who were charged more than one out-of-network fee during a single visit to an FCTI ATM at 7-Eleven between May 1, 2018, and November 16, 2021. Current Bank of America customers who received a notice will be paid automatically. Former account holders must file a claim by July 29.

The settlement fund is $2.25 million, with each eligible member receiving an equal share. The exact number of claimants is unknown. The bank denies any wrongdoing. A final approval hearing is set for August 21, 2026.
