A former Bank of America employee in Nashville, Tennessee, is accused of stealing more than $139,000 from two elderly customers.
Karl Stephen Richardson was arrested and charged with multiple felonies, including credit card fraud and financial exploitation of an elderly adult. The Metro Nashville Police Department received a complaint from the bank in February.
Investigators allege Richardson stole approximately $70,932 from an 86-year-old woman, with whom he had a personal relationship, through over 100 unauthorized transactions between April 2022 and April 2023. These included Zelle transfers and withdrawals.
He is also accused of stealing about $68,400 from a 75-year-old woman through 19 over-the-counter withdrawals and unauthorized ATM transactions between July and November 2025.
