Deribit and SignalPlus are launching their largest trading competition to date, a five-week event called “The Island,” with a total prize pool of 600,000 USDC. The contest runs from July 6 to August 10.
This marks a sixfold increase in rewards since the partnership’s first competition in November 2023, which carried a $100,000 USDC prize pool. The rapid escalation saw the “Summer Chase” event offer $300,000 USDC, followed by the “Space Edition” at $450,000 USDC. Trading volume has surged alongside the growing rewards, with cumulative volume across 2025 competitions surpassing $23 billion, compared to $1 billion during the initial contest. Individual events now attract more than 1,000 traders.
The competition format utilizes leaderboards, team challenges, and recurring daily or weekly prizes to incentivize sustained performance. SignalPlus provides the analytics and trading infrastructure, while Deribit remains the dominant venue for Bitcoin and Ethereum options.
