SINGAPORE: Malaysian businessman Farhash Wafa Salvador has denied any role in a boardroom conflict at NexG, a government technology provider. His lawyer stated Salvador had no knowledge of the alleged campaign to seize control and was never contacted by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
The denial comes after reports that Anwar intervened to end the standoff between Salvador and veteran businessman Ishak Ismail, who now appears poised to lead NexG. The move follows the resignation of six board directors aligned with Salvador on March 11 and the suspension then reinstatement of executive chairman Abu Hanifah Noordin.
Salvador holds no direct stake in NexG but previously owned 20% of MMAG Holdings, which owns 10% of NexG. Media outlets including The Star and Malaysiakini have covered the escalating tensions, now defused under government intervention.
