Delivery giant Grubhub will distribute up to $5 million in credit to eligible California customers as part of a lawsuit settlement. The suit, filed in the Superior Court of California, alleged Grubhub made false or misleading representations regarding delivery fees, service fees, and menu prices between January 24, 2019, and January 12, 2026.
Customers who ordered food through the Grubhub or Seamless app to a California address during that period may be eligible for a $10.00 site credit. Claims can be submitted through a dedicated portal until May 12th.
A state court has granted preliminary approval for the settlement, with a final approval hearing scheduled for April 29th. Grubhub denies all claims and any wrongdoing, stating the settlement aims to avoid the costs and uncertainties of a trial.
