Goldman Sachs has agreed to settle a lawsuit accusing the Wall Street bank of defrauding shareholders regarding its involvement with 1MDB, a Malaysian fund at the center of a corruption scandal.
Attorneys for the bank and the lead plaintiff informed a Manhattan federal court on Wednesday that an agreement in principle has been reached. A formal settlement proposal is expected to be submitted for preliminary court approval by May 20.
