Visa has rolled out six new AI-driven tools designed to modernize dispute resolution and combat rising fraud costs.

The services target merchants, issuers, and acquirers, offering automation, predictive insights, and streamlined workflows to reduce losses and improve efficiency.

Andrew Torre, President of Value-Added Services at Visa, emphasized the need for updated technology to keep pace with growing fraud threats.

Visa processed 106 million disputes globally in 2025-a 35% increase since 2019. Industry projections expect chargebacks to reach 324 million by 2028.

Ecommerce chargebacks alone cost an estimated $33.8 billion in 2025, climbing to a projected $42 billion by 2028. Each disputed transaction averages $74 in hidden costs for merchants.

In the U.S., every dollar of fraud translates to up to $5.75 in total business expenses, per the 2025 LexisNexis True Cost of Fraud Study.
