The global billionaire population is set to grow 26% over the next five years, reaching nearly 4,000 by 2031, according to a new report from Knight Frank. Europe is a key driver, with its billionaire count expected to climb 27% to 994.
Poland leads Europe with a projected 123% increase in billionaires, followed by Sweden at 81%, Denmark at 75%, and Norway at 53%. Three of the four fastest-growing European countries are Nordic.
Asia-Pacific currently leads the world with 36% of global billionaires, followed by the Americas at 34% and Europe at 25%. While North America will add billionaires in absolute terms, its global share is expected to fall from 31% to 27.8%.
Saudi Arabia tops the global list with a forecast 183% surge in billionaires.
The report highlights that ultra-wealthy families are diversifying wealth across multiple offices for security and stability, with the rule of law remaining a key factor in location decisions.
