B.C. has recruited over 400 U.S.-trained health-care professionals, including 89 doctors, 260 nurses, 42 nurse practitioners and 23 allied health workers. The province launched a campaign one year ago to attract talent, with more than 2,750 applications received. The recruitment includes 22 family doctors and professionals in hospital medicine, psychiatry and emergency care. The government is streamlining credentialing for U.S.-trained workers. Dr. Ianto West, a U.S. psychologist who moved to Vancouver, said the transition was smooth and welcomed.
