A health alert has been issued in Italy's Lombardy region after two suspected cases of Ebola were detected in the province of Como.
A woman from Lurate Caccivio and a man from Bulgarograsso, both humanitarian aid workers, returned from Uganda with symptoms consistent with the Ebola virus, including high fever and gastrointestinal issues.
They were quickly transferred to Milan's Sacco Hospital for testing.
Lombardy's regional welfare minister, Guido Bertolaso, stressed there is no official confirmation yet. Diagnostic test results are expected Monday.
Doctors consider malaria a more likely diagnosis. The 30-year-old woman has more severe symptoms and may need intensive care.
The other five family members are under health surveillance.
Italian health officials say the risk of Ebola in Italy remains very low, and the national response system is fully operational.
