Therme Group officially broke ground Friday on Therme Singapore, a massive integrated wellbeing destination located at Marina South. Scheduled to open in 2030, the seven-story facility spans over 720,000 square feet, marking the European operator’s first large-scale development in Asia.

The complex features three distinct zones: Play, Relax, and Restore. Amenities include more than 20 pools, 18 water slides totaling 1.8 kilometers, and over 70 treatment rooms. Advanced environmental controls will maintain a stable 30-degree Celsius indoor climate year-round, supported by advanced humidity and airflow regulation systems.

Sustainability and biophilic design are central to the project. The facility will house over 200,000 plants across 200 species. Additionally, a new four-hectare coastal park containing 350,000 plants will connect the site to Marina Barrage. Operations will utilize waterproof RFID wristbands for cashless transactions and robotic locker systems to maximize spatial efficiency.

Developers project full capacity at approximately two million visitors annually, with international tourists comprising half of that volume. Therme Group CEO Robert Hanea described the project as essential social infrastructure and a strategic gateway for regional scaling. Chairman Mah Bow Tan emphasized the development's role in supporting Singapore’s tourism ecosystem and creating local employment opportunities.
