MIAMI - The New York Yankees star Aaron Judge declared the World Baseball Classic atmosphere surpasses the Major League Baseball season following Team USA's narrow 2-1 victory over the Dominican Republic.

The semifinal matchup at loanDepot Park drew more than 36,000 spectators in an electric environment that Judge compared favorably to the World Series.

Judge showcased elite defense by throwing out Fernando Tatis Jr. at third base during the contest. His offensive contribution included a powerful drive initially ruled a home run before center fielder Julio Rodriguez made a stunning catch in the gap.

"It was bigger and better than the World Series," Judge stated post-game. He cited the unique passion of international fans representing their countries as unmatched.

Gunnar Henderson and Roman Anthony provided key offense, while the U.S. team awaits the winner of the Venezuela-Italy game to determine the championship opponent.
