LONDON, March 14: Arsenal strengthened their grip on the Premier League title race with a 2-0 victory over Everton, powered by a historic goal from 16-year-old Max Dowman.
Dowman, at 16 years and 73 days, became the youngest scorer in Premier League history after capitalizing on a defensive error during a late corner. Viktor Gyokeres had opened the scoring in the 89th minute.
Arsenal now sit on 70 points after 31 games, nine ahead of Manchester City, who drew 1-1 with West Ham. Pep Guardiola acknowledged the gap but vowed to fight on.
Newcastle United edged Chelsea 1-0, with Anthony Gordon scoring early. Brighton secured their first win at Sunderland in 45 years, thanks to Yankuba Minteh’s second-half strike.
West Ham moved out of the relegation zone for the first time since December 3.
