Megan Schutt, Australia's veteran seamer, announced Monday that the 2026 Twenty20 World Cup will be her last major International Cricket Council campaign. The 33-year-old, who debuted in 2012, has taken 309 wickets in 240 matches across formats.

Schutt said she is driven to finish strong after Australia's semi-final exits in their last two World Cups. The 2026 tournament begins June 12 in England and Wales, where Australia will pursue a record-extending seventh T20 World Cup title.

"I'm competitive in everything I do... the last two have stung," Schutt told AAP. "But then you think of the kids that haven't won a World Cup; it's a good reminder I've been lucky."

Schutt has not set a specific retirement date, acknowledging the packed calendar. Australia opens Group A play against South Africa on June 13 in Manchester.
