Marco Odermatt of Switzerland has secured his fifth consecutive overall men's Alpine skiing World Cup crystal globe. He also claimed the downhill title for the third successive season. Odermatt's victory was assured before the final downhill race as rival Franjo von Allmen failed to score points.

Vincent Kriechmayr of Austria won the downhill race, with Giovanni Franzoni of Italy second. Odermatt finished third, his performance sufficient to maintain his significant lead in the standings.

Odermatt now leads Lucas Pinheiro Braathen by an insurmountable 632 points with six races remaining in the overall standings.

"An amazing day for me once again," Odermatt stated. "Super happy with my race today with another podium. To secure those globes once again early ... means you are far ahead and that makes it even more special today."

This achievement places Odermatt second on the all-time list for overall men's world champions, trailing only Marcel Hirscher, who holds eight titles. Odermatt has won nine races this season across downhill, giant slalom, and super-G disciplines. He also leads the super-G and giant slalom standings with upcoming races in Courchevel and Kvitfjell.
