Barcelona finally dethroned Lyon as the dominant force in women's European football with a stunning 4-0 victory in the Champions League final in Oslo.

Appearing in their sixth consecutive final, Barca had been haunted by last year's shock defeat to Arsenal. For much of the first half at Ullevaal Stadium, a physical Lyon side controlled possession, suggesting another disappointment might be in store.

But the second half was a masterclass in counter-attacking football. Striker Ewa Pajor, who had lost all five previous finals, scored in the 55th minute and added a second in the 69th. Winger Salma Paralluelo netted a late brace to seal the triumph.

Despite winning their fourth European crown, the victory signaled a power shift. Lyon, with aging stars like Wendie Renard, faces a rebuilding challenge. Barcelona, meanwhile, has erased the doubts from last year's final loss.

For Norwegian winger Caroline Graham Hansen, who grew up near the stadium, the win was deeply personal, as a Champions League for women didn't exist when she began her career.
