Juventus striker Dušan Vlahović has taken the initiative in his transfer saga, directly approaching Barcelona to position himself for a free transfer. The Serbian international’s contract with the Turin club expires in June 2026, and renewal talks have completely stalled.

The move comes as Barcelona evaluates its attacking roster, with uncertainty surrounding Ferran Torres’s long-term future at the club. While Barcelona initially contacted Vlahović’s camp in late 2025, the player has now made his preference clear by proactively reaching out to the Spanish giants.

However, the deal faces complications. Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are also monitoring the situation, giving Vlahović’s representatives leverage in salary negotiations. Furthermore, Barcelona has a precedent of walking away from similar free transfer opportunities, having previously rejected Bernardo Silva due to financial and strategic fit concerns. The club’s management must decide if the striker addresses a critical need at a sustainable cost.
