In one of the most dramatic FIFA World Cup Round of 32 matches in history, Belgium staged a stunning comeback to defeat Senegal 3-2 after extra time in Seattle.

Senegal dominated the match, taking a 2-0 lead through goals from Habib Diarra in the 25th minute and Ismaila Sarr in the 51st. The African side controlled play for most of the game.

Then, in the 86th minute, Belgium's late charge began. Romelu Lukaku pulled a goal back, and Youri Tielemans equalized just three minutes later, sending the match to extra time.

The decisive moment came deep into the second extra period. After a lengthy VAR review, a penalty was awarded to Belgium. Tielemans converted in the 125th minute, at 124 minutes and 44 seconds, to score the latest match-winning goal in World Cup history.

The victory sends Belgium, known for late drama, into the Round of 16. Senegal, a respected team with quarterfinal pedigree from 2002, is eliminated in heartbreaking fashion after controlling the match for so long.
