Beau Greaves has etched her name in darts history, becoming the first woman to secure a Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) ranking title. She defeated former world champion Michael Smith 8-7 in a nail-biting final at Players Championship 11 in Milton Keynes.

The 22-year-old phenom showcased remarkable composure, clinching the victory with a spectacular 142 checkout on double 11 in the deciding leg. Her path to the final included impressive wins over two other former world champions, Rob Cross (6-5) and Gary Anderson (7-1).

"I cannot even describe the way I feel," Greaves stated, still processing her groundbreaking achievement. "I don't know whether I just thought about being the first woman to win a title but it caught up with me, so I honestly cannot believe I took out that 142."

Greaves, already known for being the first woman to achieve a nine-dart finish on the ProTour, expressed disbelief at competing against and defeating players she once watched growing up. She hopes this victory will be a springboard for future success. "Now hopefully I can kick on and keep doing it, but it's an amazing feeling."
