Atlanta Braves great Bob Horner, who famously hit four home runs in a single game, has died at the age of 68. The team announced his death on Tuesday but did not disclose a cause.

Horner was the National League Rookie of the Year in 1978 and made his only All-Star appearance in 1982. Drafted first overall in 1978 out of Arizona State, he went straight to the majors, skipping the minors entirely-a first for a Braves draftee.

He played nine of his ten big league seasons with the Braves, hitting 218 home runs over 1,020 games and never striking out more than 75 times in a season. Horner also played one year with the St. Louis Cardinals.

Horner was inducted into the College Baseball Hall of Fame in its inaugural class. He is survived by his wife, Chris, and two sons, Tyler and Trent.
