The Houston Astros made history Monday, with three pitchers combining for a no-hitter in a 9-0 shutout of the Texas Rangers.

Tatsuya Imai started and pitched six innings before relievers Steven Okert and Alimber Santa closed the door. It was MLB's first no-hitter since September 2024.

Imai, in his first MLB season after signing a three-year, $54 million deal from Japan, walked three early batters but settled in, retiring 16 of his last 16.

Santa made his major league debut in the eighth inning, retiring all six batters he faced, striking out the final batter on a called third strike.

The win capped Houston's fourth straight victory. It was the 17th no-hitter in Astros history and the first time the Rangers have been held hitless since 2021.
