Brooks Koepka is off to a strong start at the PGA Championship, shooting under 70 in the first round at Aronimink Golf Club. The five-time major winner admitted last year's struggles were fueled by personal turmoil, including his wife Jena Sims's miscarriage at 16 weeks.
“It’s easier to come out to work when everything at home lines up,” Koepka said. “Last year was just difficult personally.” The golfer, who returned to the PGA Tour this season after four years with LIV Golf, said he’s found his happiness again.
Koepka is chasing his fourth PGA Championship victory, which would put him in the company of Walter Hagen, Jack Nicklaus, and Tiger Woods. He has made every cut this season with finishes ranging from T9 to T18.
