BERLIN, April 2 - Bayern Munich are on the verge of securing the Bundesliga title with a nine-point lead and seven games to go. Still, their motivation remains high as they head to Freiburg on Saturday.

The Bavarians have scored 97 league goals this season, just four shy of the 101 set in 1971/72. With Vincent Kompany’s first full season in charge, they aim to surpass last year’s 99-goal total. Forward Harry Kane is closing in on Robert Lewandowski’s all-time Bundesliga scoring record of 41 goals in a season.

Kane has 31 goals, with Luis Diaz adding 15 and Michael Olise contributing 17 assists to his 11 goals.

Freiburg, meanwhile, are no easy opponents. Despite a busy schedule, the team is aiming for a European spot. They are currently in eighth place, nine points away from the Europa Conference League.

Their manager Julian Schuster says the team is embracing the challenge across three competitions - including a German Cup semi-final and Europa League quarter-final.

With seven matches in 21 days, Freiburg’s resilience will be tested against Bayern and Borussia Dortmund in the coming weeks.
