LEVERKUSEN, Germany -- Bayern Munich has reached the German Cup final for the first time in six years, defeating Bayer Leverkusen 2-0.
Goals from Harry Kane and Luis Diaz secured the victory for the treble-chasing Bavarians, who were fresh off their league title win. Bayern controlled much of the match, with Leverkusen unable to mount a significant challenge.
Harry Kane opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, his seventh goal of the competition this season. Despite an aggressive push from Leverkusen after halftime, with Nathan Tella testing Bayern's Manuel Neuer, Diaz sealed the win in stoppage time.
Bayern now advances to face the winner of the semi-final between VfB Stuttgart and Freiburg.
