Former NFL quarterback Browning Nagle has died at the age of 57. His alma mater, Louisville, announced his passing on Friday. Nagle was diagnosed with colon cancer earlier this year.

Selected by the New York Jets in the second round of the 1991 NFL Draft, Nagle played for the team from 1991 to 1993, eventually becoming their starter. He later played for the Indianapolis Colts and finished his NFL career with the Atlanta Falcons.

Nagle also achieved significant recognition in college football, earning MVP honors in Louisville's 1991 Fiesta Bowl upset win over Alabama. After his football career, Nagle worked in medical sales.
