Austrian bobsleigh pilot Jakob Mandlbauer has been released from the hospital following a back injury sustained during the Winter Olympics. The 27-year-old pilot was treated for an intervertebral disc issue after his four-man sled flipped during a race in Cortina.

Mandlbauer expressed optimism about his recovery, stating that physiotherapy will commence next week. While acknowledging the pain persists, he is focused on rehabilitation. His three teammates were uninjured in the incident.

Mandlbauer has been transferred to Salzburg for further treatment and is now home, preparing for his recovery process.
