The Chicago Bears have reportedly lost a key piece of their offensive line. Pro Bowl center Drew Dalman informed the team of his retirement at just 27 years old after five seasons.
Dalman played in all 17 games last season, contributing to the Bears' 11-6 record and NFC North title. The team's revamped offensive line, which included Dalman, significantly improved quarterback protection. Prior to their additions, the quarterback was sacked 68 times in 2024; after the overhaul, he was sacked just 24 times in 2025.
Dalman was originally selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He joins the Bears after a strong performance that saw him make his first career Pro Bowl. The Bears now face the challenge of replacing him through free agency or the NFL draft, while also needing to address other offensive line needs.
