Barcelona have signed England winger Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United on a five-year contract, the club announced Friday.

Financial terms were not disclosed, but British media report the fee is around 80 million euros ($93 million) plus add-ons.

The 25-year-old was Newcastle's top scorer last season and also led the team in dribbles completed.

Gordon scored 17 goals in all competitions for Newcastle, including 10 in the Champions League. He made three appearances against Barcelona in that tournament, impressing the Spanish side.

Newcastle finished 12th in the Premier League and failed to qualify for European competition.

Gordon is currently part of England's World Cup squad. He joined Newcastle from Everton in January 2023 for 45 million pounds, making 152 appearances, scoring 39 goals, and helping the club end a 70-year trophy drought with a League Cup win.
