Christian Eriksen collapsed during Denmark's international friendly against Ukraine on Wednesday. The match was stopped in the 65th minute and later abandoned. The 34-year-old midfielder regained consciousness quickly and walked off the field with medical assistance.

The Danish Football Association confirmed Eriksen is now conscious and stable. National team doctor Morten Boesen stated that the player's Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD), a type of pacemaker, responded as designed. Eriksen was briefly unconscious but recovered immediately.

Eriksen was fitted with the ICD after suffering a cardiac arrest during a Euro 2020 match against Finland in 2021. He will undergo further hospital examinations to determine what caused the incident.
