The NHL has confirmed that Calgary, Edmonton, and Prague will co-host the 2028 World Cup of Hockey. The tournament, featuring eight of the world’s top hockey nations, will take place in February 2028.
Calgary and Prague will host the round-robin games, while the semi-finals and finals will be played at Rogers Place in Edmonton. Scotia Place, Calgary’s new $1.2 billion events centre set to open in fall 2027, will also host round-robin matchups.
Rogers Place, home of the Edmonton Oilers, has a capacity of 18,347 and opened in 2016. The event marks the return of the World Cup after a 12-year hiatus since the 2016 edition in Toronto.
