Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk has been handed a four-year ban by the Football Association for a doping violation. The 25-year-old Ukrainian has appealed the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

The ban, the maximum penalty, stems from an adverse finding in a routine test in December 2024. The substance in question is reportedly meldonium, a cardiovascular medication. Mudryk, who cost Chelsea an initial €70 million in 2023, has maintained his innocence, stating he never knowingly used a banned substance. His ban is expected to run until December 2028 if upheld. CAS has confirmed receipt of his appeal, but a hearing date has not yet been set.

Both Chelsea and the FA have declined to comment while the legal process continues.
